Goodwin Steel Castings Ltd

Goodwin Steel Castings Ltd are part of an engineering group based in Stoke - on - Trent, England.  Founded in 1883, the company has almost 130 years of experience in engineering.

The main activities of GSC  involve the manufacture of large, bespoke, machined steel castings.

One of the many applications for the castings manufactured is for the  power generation sector, for use in conventional steam and gas turbines,  nuclear and A-USC development programmes.

Typical materials produced for the Power Industry sector include Cr-Mo and CR-Mo-V Steel, 9.5% Cr Steel and Super Nickel Alloys. For the production of 9%Cr Steels and Ni alloys GSC utilise secondary AOD refinement  for optimised melt quality. Large machined castings are produced  from 200kg to 18,000kg, fabricated castings up to 30,000kg and assemblies up to 100,000kg.

Goodwin also manufacture non return valves for the oil and gas industry, along with general engineering product such as cable clamps and saddle castings for suspension bridges.

GSC have been heavily involved in Nickel alloy development programmes for Advanced Ultra super-critical power generation.  Past projects include the European AD700 programme and the 50+ Project. GSC are currently involved in the EU funded NextGen Power ,  Macplus, UK Impact Project and Pacific Basin R & D.
